Fushimi Inari Taisha is in southern Kyoto is an important Shinto Shrine dedicated to the god of prosperity. It is famous for its thousands of vermillion torii gates that arch over a long path behind the shrine. Walking through these gates gives you a sense surrealism as in a different world. Kiyomizu-dera Temple, it is one of UNESCO world heritage historic temples in eastern Kyoto. This Buddhist Temple is built without using a single nail for its structure. The main hall has a large veranda supported by tall pillars that jut out over the hillside which gives an impressive view of the city below. Kinkaku-ji Temple also known as the "Golden Temple" is another UNESCO world heritage Temple in northern Kyoto. It is a Zen Buddhist temple set in a magnificent Japanese strolling garden overlooking a pond with its two top stories covered entirely with pure gold leaf. Take in a beautiful variation of the temple scenery with the changing of the seasons.

Fushimi Inari Shrine is the head shrine for some 30,000 Inari shrines across the country. It is especially famous for its seemingly endless vermilion torii (1,000 shrine gates.) Fushimi Inari was dedicated to the gods of agriculture; the deities were enrolled to ensure prosperity in business, a bountiful harvest and traffic safety. The Fox is traditionally seen as sacred, and is considered the messenger of Inari. According to Folklore, it has been said that in the olden days the Fox ate the insects that would harm the crops, which then led to a bountiful harvest. Arashiyama is notable for its view of cherry blossoms and color of autumn leaves, the bridge "Togetsukyo" which spans across Katsura River is a central landmark of Arashiyama.

The most highly recommended spot is the Sagano Bamboo Forrest! It is a plesantly cool 100m long walkway that begins from the side of the world heritage Tenryuji Temple. We will also enjoy a ride on Randen, a local train with a 100 year history. Kinkaku-ji (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage), a pagoda made to house the sacred relics of the Buddha, has given this temple the popular name Kinkaku-ji (Temple of the Golden Pavillion) complex, whose gardens and agriculture focused around a central Golden Pavilion, was said to evoke paradise on earth. The view of Kinkaku which is reflected in the Kyoko-chi (mirror pond) is very beautiful.

Within Nara Park you’ll find Todai-ji Temple a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The main gate to Todai-ji Temple. The Todai-ji Nandaimon Gate is a National treasure. The stone-statues of Kongorikishi and of a pair of lions on either side of the gate are very famous. The Great Buddha of Nara, commonly known as Nara-no-Daibutsu, can be seen at Todai-ji Temple, it is the largest Buddha statue in Japan. Nara Park is notorious for the 1200 or so wild deer that live freely within the park. The deer here are a protected species. You can hand-feed the deer some Shika-sembei (biscuits made specifically for feeding deer).Osaka castle is a famous symbol of Osaka and it is a must see on your Osaka visiting tour.

Osaka castle was built in 1583 by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, but was later demolished by flames twice. The present day Castle is the third version rebuilt by charity of the citizens of Osaka. Osaka Museum of Housing and Living has re-created buildings and streets that show what life was like in Osaka in the past. A model of the entire city during the Edo Period, the only one of its kind in Japan, is housed in the building. Visitors can learn all about Osaka's development, experiencing via interactive exhibits the different ways of life in the city during different periods of its history.

Umeda Sky Building was chosen as one of the top 20 buildings around the world in 2008 and was listed on ""The Times"". At the top, there is an observation platform called the Floating Garden Observatory which commands a panoramic view of Osaka. Arima Onsen is one of the oldest hot springs in Japan, which boasts a 1400-year-old history. A lot of traditional Japanese inns (ryokan), souvenir shops and temples at this hot spring town make you feel its long history. When walking around the hot spring town, you can see hot spring water bubbling here and there.

Red-brown water is called Kinsen (golden hot spring), and clear and colorless one Ginsen (silvery hot spring). Kobe MOSAIC is a shopping mall which is located on the port of Kobe. There are roughly 80 restaurants, and shops selling fashion goods and souvenirs of Kobe. There is a Ferris wheel at Mosaic Garden which is an amusement park near the port of Kobe. You can feel and enjoy Kobe city there.

Umeda Sky Building was chosen as one of the top 20 buildings around the world in 2008 and was listed on "The Times". "Shinsekai"meaning "New world", one of Osaka'S most colorful neighborhoods comess to life at night. It is known to be the origin of "Kushikatsu".Kushikatsu is an assortment of deepfried Veggies, Meat and Seafood, one of Osaka's local specialties. Tsutenkaku is symbol tower of Osaka reaching it's 100th year anniversary. Tsutenkaku is open year round and can you can see different figure by season.

In addition to the sledging trail there is a half-pipe, a snow park well equipped with snow play items as well as a slalom trail and mogul trail so not only advanced skiers but everyone from children to senior citizens will have a great time. You can also take in a magnificent view of Lake Biwa from the mountain slopes, which supplies water to both Kyoto and Osaka prefecture.

It boasts eight courses varying in length from a short 400m nursery slope to the fun ‘cruising’ 1400m Champions Course. There is one black run here with an average gradient of 17 degrees and reaching 30 degrees at its steepest point. In short, there is enough here for a skier or snowboarder of any level to enjoy.

One of Japan’s largest cities and famous for sake brewing, Kobe is a multicultural port city full of interesting neighbourhoods to discover.

HIGHLIGHTS:

We kick start our Kobe sightseeing tour with an hour-long stroll through the fascinating Kitano Ijinkan district; home to international diplomats, this 19th century neighbourhood overlooks downtown Kobe and is a great starting point for getting to know the city with your guide.

Afterwards, we take a rest and enjoy a Japanese and Western-style buffet lunch before we head to Meriken Park, a picturesque area by the waterfront. Built on reclaimed land, the park features many unique artworks for you to admire. Next we board the train from Sannomiya Station to Sumiyoshi Station (note that there is no reserved seating) ready for our Japanese Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Tour. You’ll spend the next hour learning about traditional sake making methods and history in the famous brewing town of Nada, where at the end of the visit you’ll get to taste the sake for yourself. We then return to Osaka via Kyoto by JR Special Rapid Service, Rapid Service, or Local (non-reserved seat) train.

Visit one of Japan’s most iconic World Heritage Sites, Himeji Castle, one of a select few original castles remaining in the country. Wander its grounds and with the help of a knowledgeable guide find out all about the building and its fascinating history. Behold the castle’s strikingly beautiful and ornate white exterior that gives it the nickname of White Heron Castle.

Next on the tour we head to the nearby Edo-style Japanese Koko-en Garden. Constructed on the former grounds of a samurai’s residence, the garden features nine unique gardens that you can stroll through and enjoy the surrounding landscape that harks back to the Edo period. Enjoy a Japanese style lunch here in the gardens before we make our way to Maiko via JR Special Rapid Service or Rapid Service (non-reserved seat).

From here we continue to the world’s longest suspension bridge where you’ll walk 47 metres above sea level along the impressive Maiko Marine Promenade. At the end of the tour, we make our way back to Osaka via public transport (note that seating is not guaranteed) from Maiko.

Situated amongst eight mountain peaks, Mt Koya is listed as a Unesco Sacred Site and Pilgrimage Route in the Kii Mountain Range, whose sacred grounds invite guests to witness the Buddhist way of life. From Osaka we travel by Nankai Railway, Limited Express to Koyasan station where by bus we continue our journey to Ichinohashi Kanko Center.

Get your first taste of Buddhist lifestyle with a vegetarian Buddhist lunch before we start our tour of this fascinating monastic complex with your guide. Firstly we go to Okuno-in Temple, the highlight of Koya-san, where you walk along the 2km path to the temple located in a mystical atmosphere, lined with hundreds of thousands of small stone pagodas. We then explore the Danjo Garan Complex, a sacred place that represents the concept of Shingon Mikkyo Buddhism established by Kobo Daishi (Saint Kobo). Take time to appreciate the natural setting looking down over the area from a height of 900m, as well as the long-held traditions that are still visible in this unique place, before we embark on our journey back to Osaka by bus and Nankai Railway.

Discover the world beneath the ocean at Kaiyukan Aquarium and be dazzled by the bright lights of Osaka with a cruise along the bay.

Home to 580 species and around 30,000 creatures in total, Kaiyukan Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world. We make our way to this giant aquarium by subway and foot, where on arrival you have time to marvel at the creatures of the deep. Get a glimpse into life in the ocean where you’ll even see the majestic whale sharks swimming calmly above your head. With a walkway just longer than 800 metres, the displays at Kaiyukan Aquarium are spellbinding.

Next door to the aquarium is the waterfront market of Tempozan. Spend some time discovering fascinating eateries selling a variety of local specialities from a wide range of restaurants in the Naniwa Kuishinbo food theme park.

We then hop aboard the Santa Maria for a cruise along Osaka Bay. Take in the sights of the city from above the ocean in a replica of Christopher Columbus’ ship and make it a day to remember in Japan’s 3rd largest and most diverse city.
