Slovenian Coast - A Bit of the Venetian Touch

Before reaching the Slovenian coast, admire the view from Socerb Castle over the Gulf of Trieste. Not far away, in Slovenian Istria, lies a small village called Hrastovlje with a walled church. Its interior is famous for the many wonderfully preserved medieval frescoes, including the memorable “Dance of the Dead”.

The coastal towns of Koper, Izola and Piran all have a bit of that special Venetian touch. Enjoy a guided tour around Piran, the most charming little town on the coast.

Nearby Portorož is a spa and beach holiday resort and thus well worth a short stop. There, you will also learn about traditional salt harvesting methods.
