Rarely has one architectural movement had so much effect on one city as modernism has on Barcelona. The imprint and legacy of men such as Antoni Gaudi, Josep Puig Cadafalch and Lluis Domenech Montaner have left not only their imprint all over the city but also a legacy that has made Barcelona one of the world’s most visited and admired cities.
This walking tour of Modernist Barcelona visits the so-called Golden Square in the Eixample district, an exceptional area that became a focus of modernist architecture at the end of the 19th century. Take a leisure stroll through this neighbourhood and admire the art noveau buildings of this special open-air-museum.
