Hop aboard the famous bullet train from Nagoya to Kyoto for a day discovering the sights and sounds of Kyoto. Arrive in the ancient capital to begin a tour of the many temples and palaces that adorn the city with your English-speaking guide. We start at the World Heritage Nijo Castle whose flamboyant style and sublime gardens are bound to impress. Then head to the striking Kinkaku-ji Temple, known as the Golden Pavilion for its sparkling exterior, and the Kyoto Imperial Palace. As the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan, you can now enjoy a tour through the estate dating from the Edo period.
At the end of the tour, you have the afternoon to spend as you wish: visit some of the many temples, shrines and palaces, or simply take in the atmosphere of a city that was the imperial capital of Japan for more than 1,000 years. We meet back at Kyoto station to board the Shinkansen train back to Nagoya.
Duration: 16 hours and 20 minutes.
Start/opening time: At 6am.
End/closing time: At 10:20pm.
Drop-off location: Nagoya Station. Please head to your next destination on your own from Nagoya Station.

Others: Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December. (Closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday.) If closed, or if the tour is during the year-end/New Year's holidays, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead.
Kyoto Imperial Palace - On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. (Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, May 14-17 for the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event).
Please refer to your tickets and final itinerary for the train number and time. The tickets and final itinerary will be delivered to the address you provide at least one day before departure. Shinkansen times cannot be changed once fixed. Customers who miss the designated Shinkansen may board a later departing Hikari or Kodama Shinkansen in the non-reserved car section only (same day only). The Shinkansen schedule may vary slightly due to unforeseen conditions.
If the address for the tickets and final itinerary to be sent to changes after booking, please inform us at least 8 days prior to the tour departure date. In the event that a participant decides to cancel the tour after having received the train tickets by post, please send them directly to the Sunrise Center.
