Livingstone city was named after the Scottish explorer Dr. David Livingstone. The culture, lifestyle and history of Livingstone city are unique. Your guide will show you around the cities colonial architecture, markets and museum.

Originally known as the Old Drift, Livingstone City owes its existence mainly to the Victoria Falls. It was founded in 1905 away from the swampy banks of the Zambezi River. In 1911 it became the capital of the Northern Rhodesia, today called Zambia. When the capital was moved to Lusaka in 1935, Livingstone retained its status as the “Tourist Capital” as well as its colonial character.

? History lovers find Livingstone town alive. Many antebellum are still in use to this day, some of which still function as originally intended.

The town has preserved much of its colonial character, but is a typical town with a busy charm. Walking around the Markets of Livingstone, notice how the locals interact with each other and how they go about daily business. Experience the friendliness of the people of Livingstone.

The museum has a wide memorabilia of the Scottish explore, Dr David Livingstone as well as arts and history of the various Zambian tribes and cultures.
