This package combines the Kyoto Morning Tour with a craft workshop experience. Visit Kinkaku-ji Temple and Nijo Castle, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On weekdays, participants can enter the Kyoto Imperial Palace with no prior application (some days are excluded).

Start the day with Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace.

Then we will visit Kinkaku-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site, also known as the Golden Pavilion. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful lake.

Kyoto Imperial Palace, this used to be the palace to the former emperor of Japan, nowadays we are allowed to explore the beautiful building.

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. This shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure and is famous for housing the God of scholarship. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.

Later, enjoy lunch then make your own way over to the Craft workshop at Kyoto Handicraft Center. The tour lets you experience block print, cloisonné work, and other crafts at the craft workshop.

Others: Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and New Year. During these dates, the tour will visit Kitano-tenmangu Shrine instead.

This also applies to the period before and after the public viewing of the Kyoto Imperial Palace in April and October, May 14th to May 17th due to the Aoi Festival, as well as when there is an Imperial Household event. Nishi Honganji Temple will be visited on Jan 25th, Apr 25th, Jul 25th and Oct 25th instead of Kitano-tenmangu Shrine.

Nijo Castle is closed on every Tuesday in January, July, August, December and New Year. During these dates, the tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead. Before entering Kyoto Imperial Palace, you must complete a form indicating full name, nationality, gender and age.
